Andrea has a varied and interesting background in music, starting with the piano aged 5, then cello from the age of 6. Her interest and talent in singing did not unfold until much later, when she joined a very popular and well reputed local children’s choir, excelling to become their lead soloist. At 14, she joined the Nigel Hopkins Singers, again becoming a key member and soloist. In 1995, aged 19, she moved to London to embark on a Dip.Mus in Voice at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, successfully studying under David Pollard.
Since completing her studies, Andrea has worked as the Assistant Art Galleries Manager at the Barbican Art Gallery in London, as an Event Manager at Stoneleigh Park, and as the Operations Manager at Thinktank and Millennium Point in Birmingham. However, she mostly occupies her free time with solo and ensemble singing and she is increasingly becoming more involved in the music scene throughout Warwickshire and the Midlands.
Andrea’s voice is perfectly suited to Oratorio and Early Music, as well as French, German, and English song. Her voice is pure, yet well developed, with a passion borne from her love of music; she engages the listener both orally and visually.
In addition, Andrea leads music-related workshops at the Barbican Centre in London, and provides voiceovers in English and German for many organisations.
